Custom Bookcases with Rolling Ladder

We specialize in High End Custom Bookcases and Built-Ins built to our customers specifications. We have our own designers on staff to assist in the design and we build everything in our custom woodworking Shop.

We are unique in that we manufacture everything ourselves rather than buying components. We manufacture own own cabinets doors, dovetail drawers, mouldings and just about everything we sell.

We start by processing our own trees for Lumber with our own in house Sawmill. Once our Logs are Harvested and Processed into Hardwood Lumber we then air dry our materials for an optimal moisure content and follow up with drying the lumber further in our own Dehumidifier Dry Kiln. The advantage of processing our own logs into lumber is twofold: 1) We are able to cut the lumber the thicknesses we need to use for specific projects 2) We are able to dry the lumber to the optimal moisture content. The end result is that our customers are getting better quality wood for about the same cost as the mass produced lumber.

Once our wood has been dried for optimim performance, we hand select each pice of wood based on its grain in color. Then we keep the wood sequenced so to acheive the best performance for each project. Furthermore, we often Bookmatch the wood for more a more custom look.

For customers who like the basic design of their kitchen but are looking to change the look, cabinet refacing might just be the perfect alternative.

If you are looking for a newly designed kitchen you may be better replacing your cabinets with a new custom kitchen. All our cabinets, doors and drawer boxes are made in house at our Chicago Manufacturing Facility. We have our own award winning in house designers. Also, we will design your kitchen on our State of the Art CAD Program which is an integral system that takes us from design to the building and construction of your cabinets.

Custom Built-Ins are also a key part of our business because we are a custom manufacturer. You can try to use "stock cabinets" for a custom built-in but it will be hard to achieve the look you want unless you have it custom fabricated.

Custom Furniture is just that, furniture that is custom made to order to your exact specifications. You get to select the exact dimensions, the hardware, the design, the wood specie, the color and everything else that goes into a custom piece of furniture. Our custom furniture comes with a "limited lifetime warrantee" and should last for many generations to come. Most of our custom furniture is made of "Solid Woods" or "Exotic Veneeers". Some examples of our work include: Custom Chairs, Custom Beds, Custom Dressors, Custom Nite Stand, Custom Armoire, Custom Buffet, Custom Credenza, Custom Hope Chest, Custom Benches, Custom Dining Tables, Custom End Tables, Custom Sofa Table, Custom Kitchen Tables, Custom Hutch. Many people are not aware of our complete remodeling services but we have been high end carpenters, cabinet makers, and furniture makers for over three decades. below is a kitchen that we designed built and installed:

Custom Kitchen Cabinet Trends in Chicago, IL

Best Cabinets has been designing building, and installing custom kitchens since 1979. This year there has been some noticable trends in the Chicago Market. I would believe similar trends have taken place thoughout the US.

1. I have seen a increase in the number of customers intereted in High Gloss Cabinets. Some are looking for high quality lacquer kitchen cabinets and some are fine with a more affordable high gloss thermofoil cabinet front.

2. There has also been an increase in the number of customers looking for "Eco-Friendly" or "Green Friendly" Products and Services. Some customers are drawn to our Custom Bamboo Kitchen Cabinets and other customers are interested in Cabinets made from reclaimed Lumber.

3. We have seen a surge in customer requests for Custom Furniture. The most popular items customers have inquired about is Live Edge Dining Tables. These tables are made from solid wood slabs typically 2"to 4" thich whick we cut on our own company owned sawmill. We then try the Slabs professional in our own dehumidifier run dry kiln. Customers have also been drawn to our custom bamboo table, custom chairs and our custom wood benches made of Walnut Maple Bamboo. Our new Exotic Veneer Round Tbale has also drawn much attention. It is made of Birdseye maple, ebony, crotch walnut, quilted maple, burled walnut teak and tulipwood.

4. Glass tile and Led Backlit Backsplashes have both been very popular this year and the glass tile has seemed to almost become the standard for kitchen countertop backslash.

5. The most common request we have had all year is of course the obvious: "How to save money". Many customers have opted to reface or refinish their existing kitchen cabinets in an effort to save time and money, rather then a complete renovation on their kitchen cabinets. Recently, Best Cabinets has performed many projects in either repainting, refinishing refacing, or redooring(replacing just the cabinet doors in the kitchen rather than replacing the entire cabinet.)
